The film Taube Feuer presents itself as a methodical structure. Five different people communicate in public places with a person they have never encountered before. They are isolated from their acoustic environment by noise-cancelling headphones. Thoughts drift into a dialogue with their counterpart, their bodies meandering in real space. As these people talk to each other for the first time, possibilities of trust and empathetic listening arise.
How are personal relationships discussed in public places? With its witness-like monuments, public places are soaked in narratives. When people tell stories, they draw on the past and reach into the future. The distant is brought close. Stories emerge within stories within stories. The place remains and absorbs these newly created incidents. What remains after this artistic play in these places?
The disposition of the figures intersects with the concrete surroundings. Inner and outer worlds merge. This oscillation between fictional narration and documentary coincidences forms narratives beyond spoken language. Using filmic means, these elements are put together as a mosaic and composed into a collective reflection on human experience.

How many ways are there to listen to a place? The project SONIC TOPOLOGIES unfolds the sounds of diverse sites in Zurich – a botanical garden, a swimming pool, a water reservoir and a lake shore. In a festival during June 2022, artists, scientists and architects develop site-specific concerts, talks and workshops that reveal hidden, overlooked and speculative sounds in the urban landscape. The festival opened up spaces of shared sounding, listening and thinking and enabled encounters across species and disciplinary boundaries.

Reffering to the Zurich episode Taube Feuer, Le Rouge dans le Bleu represents the Parisian part of this methodical approach. It brings together Parisian narrators. With noise-cancelling headphones, they communicate with an inaudible person. In a detached state, they mingle in space and clash with their immediate surroundings. Intimate questions and needs are explored. The private merges into a mutual common portrait.
Documentary, 2022, 13', 1.33:1, stereo
